How to calculate
your City taxes based on the City's mill levy:
Basically, 1 mill generates $1.00
for every $1,000 of assessed valuation. So, divide
the Total Assessed Valuation (TAV) by 1000. Then,
multiply that by the mill levy rate. The product
equals the tax amount.
Example: If your house is
worth $90,000 (assessed value)
$90,000/1000 = 90
90 x 16.249 (using the 2007 mill
levy rate) = $1,462.41 paid per year
