Water, Sewer & Trash Service Rates

 Utility Bills are sent out bi-monthly;

on the first business day of:

January

March

May

July

September

November

Water Rates:

• $16.00 for the first 5000 gallons

• $2.00 per 1000 gallons, for anything over 5000 gallons

• Water Surcharge $12.86 (beginning March 1st, 2008)

Sewer Rates:        

• $14.00 per billing period

Trash Rates: 

• $22.80 per billing period for trash service only.  Scroll down for more information on obtaining a trash container (Please have your trash by the road by 9am on Monday morning).

 Helpful Information:

• For existing homes there will be no hook-up or connection fees.

• To switch over service, please contact the City Office at 785-876-2550.

• Payments can be made:

  • In person at the City Office located at 524 Kiowa  

  • Drop Box along the Kiowa at the old City Maintenance Building

  • USPS Mail: PO Box 120, Ozawkie KS 66070

MATERIALS ELIGIBLE FOR COLLECTION:

* Residential Garbage        * Glass Bottles

* Household Trash              *Newspaper

* Metal Cans 

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS:

       * Yard Waste                         * Concrete Rubble

* Refuse from Remodeling           * Rocks

* Large Limbs or Tree                     * Motor

           * Used Antifreeze                * Paint in Liquid Form

          * Hazardous Waste                * Fridges with Freon

* Air Conditioners with Freon

• One large item per household per week can be collected, some items include:

  * Furniture   * Stoves   * Mattresses   * Car Batteries   * Junk Cars   * Paint (Frozen or Dry) 

   

• To dispose of hazardous waste products (insecticides, pesticides, paint, motor oil, etc), the County Shop in Oskaloosa may be contacted at (785) 863-2581.

• To dispose of tires, Hamm’s Landfill will accept them for a small fee.

• Please dispose of a yard waste at the City dump site located by the Maintenance Building on Kiowa.

TRASH CONTAINERS:

• Residential Containers:  The cost is $3.00 per month for a 95 gallon cart.  S.M. Ball bills separately for the containers, on a semi-annual basis.  If you are interested, please call Shawn Ball at (785) 393-1051.

• Construction Box:  S.M. Ball offers 15, 20, 30 & 40 yard roll-offs.  For more information, call Shawn Ball at (785) 393-1051.
